Mission Statement
Carrigaholt National School is a catholic school under the patronage of the Bishop of Killaloe. We wish it to be a place of learning where the focus remains on developing the moral, spiritual, physical, academic, aesthetic, cultural aspects of each individual pupil. We wish to develop knowledge and character in every pupil empowering them to meet, with assured confidence, the challenges of life now and in the future. This we envisage as occurring in an atmosphere of unity, friendship and mutual respect where all members of the school community feel happy and cared for and work in a spirit of encouragement and enthusiasm while recognizing and celebrating diversity. We wish our school to be a place that is characterized by kindness and fairness where truthfulness, honesty, openness and individuality is valued. While working under a catholic ethos, Carrigaholt national School maintains due recognition and respect for pupils of other faiths or no faith. In this school we encourage students to be at peace with themselves, others and the world. Achievement of these aspirations by the school requires the help and co-operation if students, teachers and parents.
Our Approach
Carrigaholt National School is fully committed to the holistic development of the pupils in our care. Pupils are afforded opportunities to engage in learning experiences that enhance and promote their academic, personal, spiritual and emotional development.
The school is a learning community where all partners (pupils, staff, parents, Board of Management) are considered to be life-long learners. Staff regularly engage in continuing professional development, to enhance teaching and learning throughout the school.
